A penalty shootout victory rewards a season of dedication and teamwork
Last weekend, the Tulum Country Club women’s team won the La Joya Women’s League title after defeating Chicas Unidas of Chetumal in an exciting final. The match ended 2–2 after regular time. However, the team kept its composure during the penalty shootout and secured the championship.
A season built on hard work and perseverance
This title reflects an entire season of dedication, commitment, and resilience. Throughout the competition, players from the 2007 to 2015 age categories showed consistent growth and determination.
Moreover, they proved in the final that they never give up under pressure. Their teamwork, motivation, and commitment to personal development have shaped the way they train and compete every week.
“Seeing this team lift such an important trophy after such a closely contested final is the greatest reward for everything we have worked toward together. We are also deeply grateful to the families who have supported the players every step of the way,” said Cora Calderon, Sports Program Coordinator at Tulum Country Club.
